Brothers did NWFP people ever celebrate EID with rest of Pakistan? Since I got matured i didn't recall a single year when NWFP issue and the rest of Pakistan has celebrated EID on same day so it is ridiculous to talk about this NWFP are living in their own domain for them Pakistani laws are --- who cares about Pakistani law and order in my opinion let them chill

Dear KK! I have no enemity towards pakhtuns! I have always very best of my freinds from that part of the world.
Before you attach Munafiq with Rahman, you think it over again because here Rahman means Allah!
In Sindh in only one town - Nousherouferoz eid was celeberated on Tuesday and that too by a miniority of people.
Janab Popalzai is a very renowned and respected alam-e-din in Peshawar! Unfortunately he has been the character behind the day earlier eid and ramadan fiasco.
Interestingly all the private committees or the provincial committee who specifically sit for sighting moon in NWFP never saw the moon themselves. They only receive conspicous shada from certain people.
The other day my freind from Peshawar has told me that some people give false sighting shada for their own vested purposes.

Mind you KK, poeple in DIK and Tank celeberated eid on Tuesday. Even the son of Mualana Fazal of JUI refused to accept the desicion of their minister for
Monday Eid!

Good informative post mostar, as we Pakistanis abroad have only acess to few newspapers therefore we do not get this much information. I never knew that there is some popalzai and he pressurized the government for eid etc etc.
He should be taken to task for creating fitnah and disunity amongst people.

http://dawn.com/2006/10/23/images/top01.jpg PESHAWAR, Oct 22: The Shawal moon has been sighted in different places in the NWFP and tribal areas and Eidul Fitr will be celebrated in most parts of the province and Fata on Monday.
This was announced by the zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committee of the NWFP headed by provincial Religious Affairs Minister Maulana Amanullah Haqqani on Sunday night after a marathon meeting.
Earlier local moon sighting committees had made similar announcements.
While the zonal committee was meeting at the Auqaf Plaza here, a traditional committee at the Qasim Ali Khan mosque announced the sighting of the moon.
The Committee, headed by **Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, **enjoys respect among the people of Peshawar and other cities.

Dear KK can you confirm the moon was sighted by a jum-e-ghafeer in NWFP on Monday evening being the moon of 2nd day? Leave those Saddar's munafiqeen who did not see it before Tuesday.

These questions will not fetch any answer, only will increase the war or the words. we must understand that a wrong was committed this time and people from frontier should take these popalzai type people to task who create fitnah amonsgt Muslims

I find this post slightly confusing.
On the one hand you agree that the celebration of Eid on Monday is not right but then you abuse Mufti Sahib for not accepting this incorrect shahada? Who is the munafiq here?

Eid celebrated on Monday was not right but Eid celebrated on Wednessday was equally not right. Correct Eid was on Tuesday but Mullah Munafiq wanted to make an issue of it, as he usually does during all such events.
