I don't know why, but I thought you were in your 30s :p

The two Muslim leading countries who came to Pakistan's help were Indonesia and Iran

The **Shah **of Iran. And Pakistanis, blinded by propaganda, think that the Islamic Revolution was something really great. Iran would have been a trusted Allay to this day, under the Shah.

Re: Egyptians Break Into Israeli Embassy In Cairo, Ambassador Flees
It was the Israelis who started this by crossing into Egypt and killing Egyptian policeman. Talk about exaggeration. next time there is a violent demonstration in India and there are plenty, get ready to become extremist country and another Afghanistan.

Shah of Iran was known as the "policemen of America" in the Middle East. His policies, particularly foreign, would have been extension of the policies of the US. Shah would have made sure that Pakistanis bow in submission to the US, i.e. become one of the "trusted allies" (which Pakistan has chosen to become anyway).

AS you (rightly) pointed out, we are doing that already. So wouldn't it be better if we had Iran as an ally and still doing the same thing. Remember, Iran helped Pakistan more that any Muslim country in 1965!
Re: Egyptians Break Into Israeli Embassy In Cairo, Ambassador Flees
Hate? More like Israel is irrelevant to Pakistan. It’s wiser to let the Arabs lead the way on this…there is not much benefit to recognizing Israel at this point in time. Just ask the Mauritanians…and Turks…
Re: Egyptians Break Into Israeli Embassy In Cairo, Ambassador Flees
those were loans. The only country that actually gave out pure donation was kuwait. The rest of the money was through ngo's...
Substantial private donations were not aid. By far and wide, the most notable donations came from Saudi, and honourable mention for Turkey. Turks launched the biggest fund raising effort in their modern history.
I see no mention f Kuwait as being the largest contributors of charity.
Hatred of Saudi should not substitute for reality. Geopolitically, Saudis have most invested in Pakistan. I'm not saying this is either good or bad, but reality. And there are certainly benefits to this relationship, such as aid in time of need.

I am highly unfavorable towards the idea of the US excercising hegemony over other countries.
Re: Egyptians Break Into Israeli Embassy In Cairo, Ambassador Flees
SO you wouldn't want Iran as an ally?
Iran is leading the way in challenging US having its way in geo politics of the region. It is for Pakistanis to decide who they want to ally more closely with. I think that both Iran and Pakistan are natural allies that share a great deal in terms of cultural heritage and more.

Do you not realize the costs these "investments" have come at?

So we should support a government that doesn't like us at all just because they are opposed to the US a country with which we have deep ties)?
Who doesn't like you? Iran?
I am watching TV rightnow and it is showing Pakistani PM in Iran with Irani IM who has announced $100million aid for Sindh!

Have you read the news lately? Iran has been blaming Pakistan of harboring Anti-Shia terrorist organizations for years now. Last year, after members of the Revolutionary Guard were killed, they almost blamed Pakistan outright for sponsoring terrorism.
If you talk about aid, then we have received far more from the US than we ever have from Iran. None of the US aid reached the common man and this won't either.
And I hope they finalize the gas deal this time around.

US-backed Jundullah operated out of Pakistan to launch attacks inside Iran. These attacks became more frequent a year or two back or so. This was another case of US pushing forward with its own agenda on foreign soil totally disregarding the will of the Pakistani government/people. Tehran publicly denouncing the Pakistani government gave Islamabad political leverage to drive the point to the US to halt conducting these activities from Pakistani soil. You seem to have very good know-how of politics and I think you know all this. By any stretch of imagination, relations between the two countries have been bad or tense.
I will leave it at this because this thread is not about Pak-Iran. And I also feel that my points are self-evident and do not warrant debate.

Now that you have brought conspiracy theories into this, there can't really be a debate. I can just say "Iran was planning to invade Pakistan in 1992" to prove my point.
However, whatever the case with Jundullah may be, do you agree that the Shah was a better friend than these barbarian Mullahs? :)
