Egyptian Halawa Body Sugaring?

Does anybody know where can I get halawa (sugar wax)..the kind you DON’T need cloth strips for?
I have looked almost everywhere. Anyone sales it here?

make it:
1. Two cups of water
2. Three cups of sugar

3. Two teaspoons of lemon juice
put in saucepan on heat, bring to boil, when it starts to get golden brown, turn down heat, let it simmer
take off heat pour in to heavy duty plastic container, when cool enought to handle, take a bit and stretch and use

I remember the Body Shop used to do a type of sugar wax… don’t know if they still do :hmmm:

yup make it, that's the only time i've seen that. a jordanian friend of mine would get her mom to do it for her. worked well i watched and was pretty amazed, not nearly as messy as using waxing strips and it went rather quickly. looked like caramel

I have tried making it and it was always a disaster, but the amount of sugar and lemon water is different in the recepie given above. Have you tried it yourself?

You can also get it from Arab and Turkish stores..

halawa,hot wax are easier to get here in dubai but i got some wax cakes from saudia and when i melt them they r like wax and when applied to the skin...they stick to the skin and then its hard to take them off:( what is it ? can anyone help me about that?

U'd need to use cotton strips.. for that kind of "halawa"
