Egypt has called back its diplomats from Tel Aviv to please his Arab buddies. This kinda behavior only proves that Arabs are not interested in negotiated settlement and Egypt is hoping for big payback (in terms of Arab Money) for this buttkissing maneuver.
On the contrary, Hosni Mubarak is a big advocate of the peace process. The fact is though, since the Oslo Agreement, Israel has increased it's illegal settlements and now has stepped up it's armed response to the protesters.
Mubarak has called back the israeli spy/envoy in order not to look like a complete stooge in front of his own people. That is all.

Xtremo, diplomats are not sent to a country to “solve” issues. They are the representatives of their nations. Calling them back sends a message that we ain’t interested no more and that diplomatic relations with you are worth nothing. If all Arab nations are so gung-ho about solidarity and stuff, why don’t they breakup with America, since they blame America for all the troubles in the Mideast. They think that they can play hardball with Israelis. They are wrong.
Calling back diplomats is hardly a case of playing hardball. It is the flimsiest of gestures. If Israeli's see that as hardball in light of what has been going on, then they are more warped than I imagined.
When you are surrounded by enemies by all sides, each little gesture of wellbeing counts. Egypt was the only country at peace (technically) with Israelis, now they are showing their backs to them.

“The decision was made after it was obvious beyond all doubt that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak had stubbornly ignored his commitments to the peace process in the Middle East, irrespective of the fact his policies endanger Israeli interests before everything else.”
