Members of the Sri Lankan camp in Australia for the CB series were the target of verbal abuse and had eggs thrown at them on Thursday night in Hobart. Muttiah Muralitharan and a team selector were part of a group walking from a restaurant to the team hotel and the selector was hit on the back by an egg. As a result, the Sri Lankan board has asked Cricket Australia (CA) to tighten security around the team.

pathetic to say the least. if perp mistook the sri lankans as indians then that can easily happen to team pak aswell. then i'll like to see all of the above having a laugh about team pak getting egged.

^ actually you are wrong. The Tamil Sri Lankans (such a Muttiah Muralitharan) ofcourse look identical to some sub-set of Tamilians (there are the dark and the fair Tamilians). And the Singalese Sri Lankans are descendents of people from the Orissa/Bengal coasts of India.

A majority of Pakistanis I'd assume are of Indian origin too (excepting the Iranian and Afghan lineages). Therefore for an aussie it is somewhat impossible to distinguish

I am not too much into colors/races but majority of Pakistanis is in Punjab (adjacent to Indian Punjab). Majority of people who immigrated from India are in Sindh (Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur etc.) but amongst them majority is not as dark as Sri Lankans/Bengalis.

this is simply ignorant and very embarrasing on the part of the hoset nation, that a host nation kicks up dirt on the visiting teams.
no game is a game if it is not ethically and professionally played to compete.

dude - we all know how the aussies behave and what kinda mindset they have against other colored nations

with this bird flu in Pakistan, I recommend saving some Flue’d eggs and use them discreetly when the aussies come here for a visit
