You can know all about a topic or a subject, but the second you see it in the form of a picture it opens all new avenues of emotions.
For me today:
*Said Mohammed, 55, and Roshan Kasem, 8, on the day of their engagement in the village of Chavosh on Sept. 10, 2005. The father of the bride, Abdul Kasem, 60, said he is unhappy giving his daughter away at such a young age, but has no choice due to severe poverty.
the photographer commit suicide shortly after taking this photo…it may not have been a direct result but it did affect him so much that he became depressed and it led to his suicide

This is one of the most captivating picture shot. Its of an Afghan Refugee girl and her eyes are so mesmerizing…almost emerald and they speak volumes…she has this wild , haunted and hunted look in her eyes like she has seen more atrocities beyond her years…she was 12 yr old when this was taken…
Its one of those pix that stays with you long after you’ve seen it. It made it to the cover of National Geographic.

and national geographic found the woman a couple of years ago! She was living in Pak-poor, married with 2 kids. National Geographic took care of some medical expenses that the family needed when they found her…something like that
This and other pictures like this send shivers down my spine specially when at the end of the day I think how much food we have wasted today or every-time I go to some Desi events where food is wasted left, right and center. I have a believe that we have to answer about wasted food to Allah on the day of judgement.
