Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
I find it amusing when Pashtuns think of their surname 'khan' as Pashtun pride. Reality is that Pashtuns adopted this surname from Mongol conquerors of the region.
There is nothing Pashtun about the surname 'Khan'.
Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
^
You are right "Khan" is not exclusively Pashtun but there is nothing wrong or shameful about adopting aspects of other cultures.
Khan is as much Turkish and Punjabi as it is Pashtun.
All cultures adopted, adopt and will always adopt aspects from other cultures, no culture is insular...
...That's why I find people who stick to their outdated ways in the name of tradition annoying because cultures change, they are not static...
Pashtun/Punjabi/English culture is not the same as it were 50 yrs ago and 50 yrs ago it wasn't the same as it were a 100 yrs ago... Cultures change, adopt and adapt with time, always have, always will..
Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
what a non-sense, what does pathan racism means? and pashtuns selling their girls is bullshyt.
More than historical achievements, pashtuns were famous for high moral standards and principels.
Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
Can this thread be closed? I have seen some of the most retarded comments. Racism isn't the exclusive of Pakhtuns or any other group.

This thread was started by 'Afghan Prince'. His posts are very similar to the posts one finds on Pashtun/Pakhtun websites like khyberwatch dot com .
Also your reply is very similar to what is found on khyberwatch dot com forums

^You did'nt answer my questions in another thread, why pashtuns irritate you?

marwati, I am only responding to lies and racism of Afghan "Prince". Where did I say pakhtuns/pashtun irritate me? To the contrary I find it fun when I see complexed people like him. I know a lot of pakhtuns who don't think like him and a lot who do.
Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
what really is being discussed here?
Re: effect of pakistan on pathan's racism
^ Afghan pride. Pashtun pride. Punjabi pride. Selling daughters. etc...
btw, daughters are sold in all communities not just pashtun, it's due to poverty and illiteracy, that's it. And this is RARE, not like a market, astaghfirullah.
what really is being discussed here?
My point exactly.
