Education in KPK - Some good news

Absolutely delighted to see the results below - feel so proud of supporting the right cause!

KPK which at one point had the second highest number of out of school children now has the least. Testament to PTI’s hard work on the ground, I know that figures for 2014-15 were bad (736,000 OSC) as this is when government backed enrollment drive was still taking place, and most of the stats were from 2013.

Punjab and Sindh despite giving PMs, President and 6 times provisional governments with unlimited access to resources is embarrassingly lagging behind in education.

Finally a small province is able to make a comeback. I know plenty of people - educated or not - do not consider such milestones a change or good performance. But as history is our witness - you cannot change a destiny of a nation without educating their children! Knowledge is King!

A long way to for KPK still, but if such positive trends can be noted on yearly basis, maybe within next 5 years time, KPK will be able to control the illiteracy crisis.

KPK spends 29% of its budget on Education (highest in all three provinces), but still a lot of financial input is needed to curb the education emergency.

To send these children back to school - awful lot of war damaged schools were rehabilitated. New schools were built and equipped, teachers were recruited, security was provided, door to door campaigning was done. A government building a small community school on the remote mountains of Swabi may not be enough to get the media attention, or newspaper ads, or get pat on the back but these are exactly the steps a government should be voted for.

A small BBC documentary on PTI Government rehabilitating terrorism hit schools in KP:
