Two days ago there was a two hour live Great Debate on Geo on the topic of education. In addition to different walk of senior professionals connected with education almost all the major political parties were represented in the Debate. All these political parties were asked to explain their election manifest on education. Performance of all these parties without any exception in the past is well known to the people and need no repetition here. It is well known no political party is sincere with education. When Bhutto in 1973-75 tried to open schools colleges in Balochistan how Bugtis, Mangals reacted to it is not an old history. No doubt Bhutto did not do this honestly for education of children but with political motive to reduce the influence of Bugties Mangals from the mind of new generation. Choudharies who have for coming election “on the paper” a professional worded manifest a year back, though failed, tried to encroach upon land of a big government school in Chakwal in the name of construction of shops for the “benefit” of school. And etc. MQM in the Debate also showed its manifest which included free education upto matriculation. Despite the fact nothing good for the education can be expected from these parties for reasons well known nevertheless I can expect sometime a wonder small little practical unintentional good from all these parties but not at all from MQM at ever even in my dreams. Three months back there was a similar live debate on increasing alcohol, drugs, sex, heroin etc in the society. MQM leader a power Federal Minister Babar Ghouri confirmed that in the debate that all these things were present even in schools. He stated that when his son told him “what was happening in his Islamabad school, he immediately send him to USA for study”. He saved his own son leaving hundreds of sons in the same school of others many of whom might have been sons of mohajir. He did not did not disclose in the Assembly what his son told him. He and his party did not shock the Government by moving any motion in the Assembly to debate for the sake of education of millions of other sons. MQM was and still is oxygen for General Musharraf. If anyone trusts or believes MQM will deliver any remotest thing for education he is a fool and if any parent of a school going son votes for MQM such a parent in fact is introducing alcohol drug heroine to their own son.
