Education & Discrimination

Can education end racism/ discrimination?

I have seen people debate that the reason there is unkindness between communities is due to lack of education. Clearly, desi like to point out that within our family or community the less the educated the more likely person is going to be narrow mind.

Is it a myth or a fact?

How can racism or discrimination be eliminated between communities?

Re: Education & Discrimination

well i think the less the educated, the less the confident, the less the social, n hence.. the less the open-minded. what you said, kinda holds true somewhat.. noone likes to stand out from the crowd.. w/o education (and the other people/communication skills u acquire while ure in school) ure prone to be the odd one out.. which could lead to repulsion of sorts.. n hence discrimination.....

as for discrimination within communities, that's pretty generic.. ud have to specify wat communities ure focusing at.. like the black/white/brown communities..?? or like within the brown communites.. like paindus (lahoris/punjabis----- no offense to anyone, im just referring to how khi-ites refer to them) and non-paindus....

Re: Education & Discrimination

I am talking about desi communities.

Re: Education & Discrimination

I dont think that its true. Sometime, I've seen more racism amongst educated people. People who are illetrate (mostly villagers in Pakistan) are more humbel and khush-Ikhlaq

Re: Education & Discrimination

..yes they are very polite as they go into crowds and blow themselves and everyone in theri vicinity up. They even say excuse me and thank you as they go through the crowd to get to the premium spot

Re: Education & Discrimination

I agree with that too, ive definitely found that to be true, sadly:(

Re: Education & Discrimination

We should not deviate from the main topic but the form of terrorism, which we are victim of as of now, is the brainchild of some highly educated people, not Noor Muhammed and Khuda Bakhsh

Re: Education & Discrimination

It's definitely true. But education does not open all minds. Some minds remain narrow and ignorant, despite education. And all that knowledge does is give them tools to justify their own ignorant and hateful views.
