editing posts in threads that have been locked + quoted posts

salams

  • i would like to edit some posts of mine in threads that are currently locked. as of now this is not possible. i realise i can pm the forum mods abt it but i was wondering why the default is set such they we can’t do this automtically? shouldn’t we be able to? can this be fixed?

  • does gs have a general policy about posts where someone has quoted another member’s post and the member who has been quoted prefers that the quote of her or his post be removed from the other member’s post? certain posts of mine have been quoted and i would like for those quoted part of my posts to be removed from the post of the other member. i realise i can pm the forum mods abt this too but is the decision to edit them taken on a case by case basis or is it mandatory for mods to edit out our posts from someone else’s post if we ask them to? if it is that’s great and if its not then can we make this a rule?

thanks

irem

Making it an obligation for mods to edit quotes is an administrative overhead. Dont post it if you feel like yer gonna regret it. Most bulletin boards have edit option switched off completely, I for one am in favour of it. Same goes for locked threads. Pehle tolo phir bolo.

sigh

i know who---me :/ but still...

khayr, i guess i'll just PM the mods...thanks for ur reply :-)
