Suppose I’ve just sent a pm to someone . . . . . .and then i realise that there were some potentially harmful (;-))typographical errors in that message. . . . . .
Is there, by any chance, a way to rectify the typo?

**After going through all of the above well informed and intelligent replies. . . i conclude that nobody has even a distant damn idea what the solution to the query posted above looks like. . . we’re still there where we started. . so basically the bottomline reached is
i still don’t have a satisfying answer. . . .
