Now that the time is approaching this question keeps popping in my mind that when would my baby come?
So I wanted to ask you all mommies here that how close to your EDD (according to LMP) your baby arrived in case of either normal delivery or c sec specially your first baby?
when did you go to the hospital when you started feeling contractions or you waited for some time? when did your water break?
I had my son 3 days before my EDD. I was having strong contractions for an entire day on and off…and right before i went to sleep my water broke. I went to the hospital at night (11 PM) and had my son the next afternoon (1 PM). I had a normal delivery, first time mom as well.
Oh and i went to the hospital after my water broke. You should go to the hospital when your water breaks or when contractions are steady, strong and won’t go away. Guideline is one contraction every 3-5 minutes, lasting for about a minute each for at least a few hours (1-2 hrs) consistently.
My mucus plug passéd a week ago and I though my water broke so we rushed to the hospital, but was sent home .. After a week I went for my regular check up and upon checkup she said that my water had broken .. When ? No one knows :)… I was admitted to the hospital at 3pm. I was not having any contractions so they gave me pitocin.. I had my son next morning at 8:31 am. I had him two days before my due date and was a normal delivery and my first child .
In had my first born 1 1/2 weeks before my EDD. He was getting pretty big and I was stuck at 1 1/2 cm dilation so my OB didn’t want to risk me not being able to push him out so I was induced with a pitocin drip. The nurses broke my water manually at about 4 cm, and 2 1/2 hours later he was born completely natural! No epidural, no episiotomy..about 4 pushes! The whole labor went so fast, Mashallah.
I worked all the the way until my 8th month. I was still driving up until a week before my delivery. I was walking non-stop for exercise throughout my pregnancy (i would walk laps in the mall during the day and on weekends and go for walks with my husband in the evenings).
So basically I kept to my normal everyday routines.
My weight gain was minimal…i only gained 13 lbs with my first son, because I was a little overweight when i got pregnant do the fertility meds I was on to concieve. My son was born at a little over 7 1/2 lbs.
I really believe it’s mind over matter. If you face your impending delivery with fear and loathing, I think it becomes harder than it needs to be. If you stay positive and open minded, and just really let your body to the work, then you’ll have a more positive experience.
Well mine came nearly 2 weeks early, his movements stopped, ctg wasn’t satisfactory either, biophysical profile showed cord around neck. Emergency c-sec, no water breaking, didnt lose mucus plug or anything, never got an internal. Cord was around his neck twice tightly with his head pulled back.
my EDD was november 17th.. I went into labor on November 12th and baby was born on thr 13th. It was my first baby and everyone at work predicted it to be a thanksgiving baby! November 14th was supposed to be my first day of maternity leave so yep I worked until the very end and used every single day of maternity leave for its intended purposes.
I was soo ready to be done with pregnancy.. I walked and walked and walked as much as I could especially during the last few days.. I went into labor after coming back from an uphill walk of 2 hours! may be a coincidence but I feel like its connected.
