I just discovered this yummy treat a few months ago and now I’m hooked! Other than boiling/salting it, any other ways to enjoy this this bean?

Re: Edamame
You can also bake them.....I used to eat edamame as snack but since I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I can't anymore.
Re: Edamame
Incorporate endame in salads, stir-fry, casseroles. You can add soy sauce to it...add noodles....tofu....diced chicken, etc.

Really, why not? I have a family history of hypothyroidism - is it a no-no?
Thanks RV for the suggestions - I'll try it in salads and stir-frys.

Re: Edamame
I know that people will cook keema in a variety of way. They'll comine keema with mattar...or aalu....or bell peppers (had that yesterday, lol). So, I think you can even combine endemame with keema. And possibly use them in fillings for dumplings and egrgolls. Maybe even add them to soups.
Maroush...endamame dip sounds interesting. I came across an endemame hummus recipe a while ago.

Re: Edamame
hain? i have never seen these things before. Are they not available in Australia?
Re: Edamame
The original recipe asked for mirin, but i’ve omitted that…you can add it if you want…(1tbsp)…![]()
** Ingredients:**
450g shelled edamame
1 clove garlic (i like garlic so i add 2)
2 spring onions
1/2 tsp wasabi (the recipe asks for powder but i have paste so i just used that)
3 tablespoons mayonnaise (you can use light if you’re watching your calorie intake)
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp fish sauce (something like nam pla…if you don’t have it/like it, make sure you add salt)
3 tbsp water (maybe more, maybe less)
Instructions:
Put the edamame in a pan of boiling salted water. They’re cooked when they begin to float to the top. Drain and put them in a bowl of icy water to stop the cooking process and retain the colour.
Once cool, drain and put them in the food processor, along with all the other ingredients except for the water. Purée the mixture for a minute or two…once you notice that their are no visible chunks, begin to add the water, slowly and gradually until you’re happy with the consistency. Check the seasoning and dish it up!
I served it with crudités but also used the leftovers as a wrap filling with grilled chicken. ![]()
