ECO art

eco art :intricate paper collages detailed to perfection.

These spectacular collages made by the artist Lola Dupre are purely handmade. Without making any use of computers, she only uses scissors, paper and glue, and of course a lot of patience. Sometimes she also includes pen and paint in her work. She cuts up photographs and collages then snips them into mind-bendingly weird and witty deformed portraits. Her talent converts the simple raw materials into marvelous and unique pieces of art.
Human faces are the biggest inspiration for this ingenious artwork. Lola is also inspired by other artists who work with her in the studio called “The Chalet” in Glasgow. In addition, she also got inspired by collaborating on editorial material with photographers like Madame Peripetie and Kristiina Wilson.
Using just scissors, paper and glue, Lola Dupre creates something that invokes both memories and new perspectives. It’s interesting to see how paper is transformed into stunning pieces of art.

These intricate paper collages are based on pre-existing imagery from iconic historical and modern artists. She also takes pictures of her friends and people around her. She manipulates and warps familiar canvases to create new, twisted artworks that invoke both memories and new perspectives. Using just scissors, paper and glue, the artist hardcrafts each piece, making them one-of-a-kind. First an image for manipulation is selected. It is then cropped and printed at various sizes and edited on various sizes of paper. The only limitation face by her working this way is the resolution use. Occasionally she combines two or three images or work from a small handful of duplicates. She can source images on any place through internet and she can also choose the color scheme of the composition she wants to create, and this turns out to be very advantageous for her, as she can implement whatever is in her mind.
The creativity of Lola’s art is purely handmade. She is a master of scissors, glue and surrealism. Her creations are environmentally friendly, diverting the landfills into life. The artwork is reflective and innovative, combining elements of what we already know. She creates bizarre images, sometimes scattered, other times contorted.
The combination of horror and humor in her creations is the most attractive thing in her art. The entire use of paper inspires people to go green and take up the environmentally friendly artful practices.
