I have heard elderly women say that the pregnant women shouldn't go out of their houses. they shouldn't look at the sun/moon...it effects the baby..some say its rubbish but i wouldn't risk my baby in any way if i were one of the pregnant women.

Apparently your'e not meant to cut/ chop/ peel anything at the time/ on the day. I have a cousin, she has a small slit in her ear and apparently my Khaala had just started cutting something with scissors when she was stopped. Allah ho Alim as to how true these things are coz a lot of ppl simply dont believe in 'em.
However, I have an Aunty who wanted to prove it wrong so she did absoloutely everything on the day... apparently nothing happened to her son, Alhumdulillah.

Sorry girls aunties and so on . . but there isnt any such thing as your baby being affected by the eclipse .. its just all made up .. there may have been one or two incident where its just a coincident that something happened ... and ppl made it in to a story ..that such and such thing has happened ..
In reality agar Allah chaaey to Bacha/bachi can be crippled even if there isnt an eclipse..lekin if some one is born with a defect .. in them its merely a test from Allah alimighty as to how thankful a person is tht they have a son or a daughter, yet they maybe dissabled .. from my personal experiance .. i can tell that my maamoo who was in the army at one time till he was 25 born perfect became dissabled and later on my maasi who at the age of 18 became dissabled and now both my maasi and my maamo ...are 85% dissabled phisically.. now youcant blame on anything that this and that happened to them, but merely We in our family are lucky to have a maamo and maasi and are thankful and believe it as a test from Allah Almighty.
End of the day, if Allah Almighty wanted us to go through pain (this would be against his status) because he wudnt be rehmaan and raheem.. and merely if a child is born with a defect is simply a test from our Lord Almighy.
Even if one tried to take precausions on elipse day , what if the baby was born with some sorta defects , who are you going to put the blame on, it wont be yourself, cos u did all the things to keep away from the eclipse affecting the baby??? you cant put the blame on Allah.. so whats the conclusion. Its All in the domain of Allah Almighty as to what HE does with us.
