Lets disscus if paperbooks are better then ebooks. The ppl who perfer ebooks and why and those who still like books in paper form. I read ebooks only, reason is regular books are really expensive here in pakistan plus there are many books which are not available i just download from net and read them without spending a penny .
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
I download many ebooks, but somehow never able to complete any of ebook. Have downaded around 50 books in Ramadan, but hardly finished a single one. Got around 20 books (hard copy) from a book fair last month and completed 3-4 books.
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
^Same, i just forget about the books or what i read in them...not the same with physical books
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
unless they're text books LOL
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
I am an IT guy but couldnt get used to ebook reading, prefer paper books.
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
i like reading paper books. have lots of books in electronics format, have multiple electronics devices to read books but nothing matches a classic paperbook.
two positive things about paperbooks which i like
1) you physically see them laying on your desk, places in the shelve and they sort of invite you to come and read, it reminds me that i've not yet finished that book
2) when you are reading a book, traveling somewhere, sitting in a public place, people who like reading and those who don't like, somewhat get interested in book if the title/ cover page is interesting
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
i prefer actual books...the feel of it, the ease of it and the ownership in the form of a personal library! :)
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
I've done both but I prefer the feel of curling up with a paper book. There's more excitement and a greater anticipation with the paoer books, for me anyway.
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
And the smell of fresh paper.
Ebooks VS Paperback books
Paper books all the way…ebooks are too impersonal…I can’t “curl” up with my tablet ![]()
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
An e-tablet a day

I like books in general. Prefer a paper book original copy and dont mind spending money to get them either. If the only choice is to download and read, don't have any problem with that either.
Same here. I downloaded few books a while ago but haven’t click them after that ![]()
Paper books are easy to read I usually read them in bed when sleeping or in car when going somewhere.
I know ![]()
When I do this front of my dad he always say ‘Kia is main perfume laga howa hai’ ? ![]()
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
how can you read while sleeping?
Laity laity bilkul aankhen band hone tak ![]()
Re: Ebooks VS Paperback books
Wow
Not a single person who perfers Ebook over paperbook and i was expecting to see posts from ppl telling about their experince about kindle/nook devices.
I do not mind the regular books but it has been three to four years since i am into ebooks and lately i bought one paper book but could not manage to finish it.
And i know what southie means by smell of a new book
but Ebooks have their own benifits you can customize fonts, size, paper, according to your desire. Ebook Devices are way more lighter to handle and you cannot carry more then a few regular books whereas as ebooks you can have your whole liberary with you all around the world. Just a click away from you. ![]()
So how much you people would spend money on paperbooks? And how many people are here who get books from public libraries only?

Public libraries have stopped lending books here : ( Don't know whether there are still libraries in Karachi (having good collection of books) and lending books to the members.
