You’re shopping for groceries, you pick up something, put it in your trolley…but feel the temptation to eat it there and then…
Do you give into that temptation?
I do that a lot with olives from the deli section. I get a huge tub of the stuff…and by the time i get to the checkout to pay, they’re all gone… so i make them scan the empty tub… the weird looks i get are priceless
I used to do that also. Its ok if the package has a bar code so they can scan it anyways but produce that only can be bought by weight (nuts, grapes, cherries) were bothering me (the munching part)...
Once I made the cashier charge me for one extra pound of grapes because I guesstimated that is how much I ate while shopping.
TLK, i’ve had to do that with grapes once before, cos the kids and Mr Maroush started munching on them…
MIA, i can’t really blame the empty olive tub on my youngest who’s with me when i shop as he’s only 4 months old! I like to shop when my daughters are at school…but thanks for the tip… i shall take my girls with me next time!!
Weird I did that once here in CAnada .... was thirsty so drank water and gave the cashier the empty bottle...she looked at my like I had committed a crime ...what the heck woman...
I used to do this quite a lot - usually because we do our grocery shop early in the day and I'm known to skip breakfast! I hear that some other customers take offence when they see other customers walking around eating food that hasn't yet been paid for. But, they can mind their own business, I pay for it - so will eat it when I choose to do so :D
