Do you eat out a lot?
Do you have specific places you like going to or have a few staples you enjoy and that’s it?
Oh and are you one of those that go on yelp and do extensive research before gracing an establishment with your presence?

Re: Eating out/Dining out
When I am back home its at home, when I go away again its a mix of eating out and making stuff.
As for going out I like trying out new places
Re: Eating out/Dining out
After learning to cook, I rarely if ever eat out. Mashallah.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Rarely.
There is no thrill for me to have breakfast for $12 when I can make the exact same thing at home
at a quicker pace and obviously cheaper. I will join my friends now n then, but not willingly, I enjoy
the company more ![]()
Having said that I have been to very fancy restaurants for anniversaries/BD dinners, 1-2 times a
year It doesn’t hurt to try a lobster or a juicy steak for a special occasion :k:
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Lobster looks nice but can’t bring myself to eat it ![]()
Re: Eating out/Dining out
I tried it and its not bad but its not that awesome either ![]()
Steak…![]()
I eat out but ONLY if I find a place that looks like a hidden gem. I love recommending restaurants and get asked quite a bit for places to go so its good to know where the best spots are. Not necessarily the most expensive ones…but the good ones.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Yes, I love to eat out. At least twice a month at restaurants plus fast food.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
When I was on 2.5 months back to Pakistan on visit I ate atleast a month outside but I dont find any charm here in eating out. Perth does not offer you much to eat out just some Halal kabab shops. And in previous thread i told that we dont eat out veggie or fish even at non halal as they say that mixing of meat can be there so i cant convince myself over this.
Even on my visit to US twice we had eat outs but seriously i dont find it much worth except our stay at LA where Bilal Restaurant was a feast for us, good Pakistani food there
Re: Eating out/Dining out
eat out whenever i am in school or if mum doesnt cook. very random. no definite plans. and ooo Bilal near LAX? i liked their food! but it is not always good… depends when you go
Re: Eating out/Dining out
We usually go out to eat as a family to a restaraunt about once a month…more if it’s a birthday/anniversary or celebration month. Don’t eat fast food…will get takeout from a desi joint on weekends occasionally if I don’t feel like cooking. When we properly go out to a restaraunt though, it’s rarely ever desi. I want to go someplace different and exciting
I love to try out new places and cuisines, so I’m definitely a yelp’er ![]()
Re: Eating out/Dining out
question: what do you guys consider “fast food”? someone said that basically anything NOT home made is “fast food”…although I think ther’es a difference between McDonalds etc vs diners vs restaurants…
Re: Eating out/Dining out
i consider McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell etc “fast food”…I avoid these type of drive through joints, unless I just need a drink or quick fries for the kids. I prefer to grab a quick bite to eat at a fresh sandwich shop.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
^ Same.
I stop only for coffee, drink or something equally small.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Yah for some reason fries don’t feel ‘fast food-y’ enough if it’s by itself ![]()
Re: Eating out/Dining out
We dine out on the days when I have to stay late at work, or I am not feeling well to make dinner. I have started to cook few dishes on Sundays to avoid having excuses during the week. When we do dine out, its normally not from fast food places (i don’t want my toddler eating fast food too much)…but more from places like BJ’s, Chipotle, Mongo’s style places or Chinese food places.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
BJ’s & Chipotle are my go-to places as well lol
Re: Eating out/Dining out
^ just don’t feel too guilty about eating at those places. Still not as good as home cooked food, but better thn fast food.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Exactly! When my husband is traveling for work (which was a lot recently!) and I’m juggling the kids and their activities alone, Chipotle or BJ’s curbside pickup usually happens lol!
Re: Eating out/Dining out
Ever since we moved closer to the north pole we haven’t really eaten out. There are very few halal restaurants here and I’m sick of eating fish and veggies every time we go out.
I'm a good cook so I make a fancy dish every now and then for the family . Its not quite as enjoyable as eating out but its good enough.
When we do go out, we go to moxies or earls.
Re: Eating out/Dining out
With the family, once every couple of months or on special occasions. We’ll usually go to a halal restaurant if we’re going to have meat items as part of the meals. Otherwise, Indian restaurants for vegetarian or South Indian for South Indian stuff like dosa, idli, etc. And Pizza once in a while.
For work, I’ll order from restaurants, but usually don’t go out to eat and have them deliver it instead. Usually Greek or Chicken and sometimes pizza. Occasionally we do go out for a company meal, and it’s always a halal restaurant.
