Eating lobster is haraam?

From seafood, only fish is made Halaal for us. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu
Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Two carions are made Halaal for us; Fish and locust.
’ (Mishkaat vol.2 pg.361). Fish is classified as a Vertebra.

Shrimps and lobsters are not vertebras, hence, not permissible.

Some Ulama are of the opinion that shrimps, etc. are fish, therefore,
permissible. Due to the differences of opinion, it is best to adopt Taqwa
and abstain from eating shrimps, etc. but they cannot be regarded as swine
meat which is expressly Haraam

let's assume u r right with ur reference but what about Quran which says that everything from Sea is Halal?

i m sure someone can post the reference.

btw, does locust have vertebra?

This very topic was discussed in another thread just a few days ago…

Fish and other Seafood

Iqbal

Surah al Ma’idah Ayat 96.

I hope this link will help.

Jazak Allah Khair.. I think the living thing which eat with thier hands are considered makroo.. where as Lobster, crabs and shrips eat with thier hands as well..

I m not a great scholar or anywhere near that but I think making something Haram, Makrooh etc. to something that has been made Halal by Allah is not right.

Well neither am I.. but with the literature I read , that's the conclusion has been made.

It’s nice to know that you are open to discussion and don’t get angry. :k:

anyhow, it will be good if you discuss this material that u have read with someone that you think is more knowledgable.

Jazak Allah brother.. well I do that.. and I know he is write.. but I cant argue with people who think im wrong and they are right.. because i speak from my research and knowledge and many others talk from thier preceptions.
