Eating Healthy During Pregnancy...NOT

Hey guys I just wanted some advice. I’m the kind of person who generally tries to eat healthy but I eat whatever I feel like BUT in moderation of course, and I maintain my weight/health. I always knew whenever I get pregnant I will strictly give up ALL junk food, all bad stuff no caffeine/soda.

However now that I’m in my second trimester, I’ve not kept my promise. Yes I do drink fresh juices and incorporate fruits/veggies, but its just basic not a lot. I have really bad nausea and tiredness plus I work a lot plus incorporate my cravings for all fatty stuff and my pregnancy diet is bad!

Is this really bad? Am I really harming my baby by eating unhealthy 3/4 of the time? Its just soo difficult with the nausea and the food cravings to eat what I need to. How did you guys handle this? Any tips??

I feel like such failure for not even being able to control myself just 9 months :frowning:

Eating healthy is good but giving into cravings is also one of the fun parts of pregnancy as long as you don't let it get out of control.

Make sure you're taking your vitamins, getting your water intake like you should and are walking/doing some sort of light physical activity every single day.

One thing I noticed was if I was religious about eating certain things...then I had less of a chance of overeating on crap. Meaning, I would make sure I got my milk, protein, water, veggies, etc. Usually if I it my goals, I had less of a chance of eating something super fattening or unhealthy.

Eating Healthy During Pregnancy NOT

What necessary words... super, a remarkable phrase

Don't worry. I had very bad nausea in my pregnancies too. I could not eat healthy at all. Both babies were fine MA.

the baby will take all the nutrition it needs from you, so don't worry. worry about yourself post partum, though. make sure you take your prenatals religiously and drink lots of water and get lots of rest.

Bring yourself to the terms of eating healthy. Yes you can control yourself for 9 months. Eating and living healthy is mandatory if you want to ensure the health of both you and the baby.

Ok cravings are one thing but feeling sick with nausea and extreme fatigue is different for every woman. I have been through medical issues other than pregnancy and thought pregnancy would be a sail through for me. But every woman is different, some suffer so bad that they actually lose weight or can't even drink water. I could not drink water at all. Fatigue was so extreme that I felt like a 90 year old and could not even tolerate the smell or sight of chicken curry without vomitting. Finding things to eat was torture the whole nine months.

I remember when I felt a little better after 7 months one day I immediately cleaned all three bathrooms in case I felt sick again the next day.
