My friend makes besan laddoos, coconut barfi, etc at home. Can you all share some recipes here?
Re: Easy home made mithai
baisan 1cup
suji 1/2 cup (semolina)
ghee/oil 1cup
sugar 1cup
water as required
cardomom,almond flakes,pista,sultana,etc for garnish
add some cardomom seeds and bhoon the baisan in a big pan on a low flame, as you need to be able to add ingredients
bhoon suji in a separate fry pan til golden brown, add to baisan
bhoon, continous stirring required for this otherwise your mixture will burn
when cooked aroma arises and mixture is a light golden brown, add ghee, you need to stir continously as you add the ghee,do this on high heat keep stirring vigorously
when the mixture starts to have small bubbles erupting all over add sugar
I usually dissolve the sugar in warm water, then add to baisan mixture be very careful as this will splatter and as the mixture is hot you dont want to burn
again you need to stir continuously until the baisn comes away from the sides of the pan
your mixture is ready, the aroma starts to fill your kitchen
add garnish of almonds, dessicated coconut, pista etc as you wish mix well
turn out into a square or rectangle dish press well, score the mixture so its easier to cut when cool
garnish with silver paper, varak, cut into burfi pieces and serve
