easy change dumbbells

there are a number of these out there.
any experience with them? brands you will recommend.

how successful have people been using resistance bands instead of dumbbells, i think it may work for a number of exercises especially for upper arms and shoulders etc, but probably not for wrists and forearms, correct me if i am wrong

Re: easy change dumbbells

I don’t have the branded ones but yea I do have the a set in which the weight can be changed. However I used them some 2-3 years back :hinna:

Re: easy change dumbbells

dont know about the brands but dumbbells are far better than resistance bands, you can work most of the muscles with resistance bands, not just arms and delts but it would be mainly aerobic type stretching than the concentration training which can be done by weights ie dumbells. all you need is a pair of dumbbells and floor mat or carpet or just plain floor and you can workout your entire body.

Re: easy change dumbbells

Peer sb. if space is not the issue. Always go for free weights.
Resistance work is good but on top of free weights.

you can actually use very light weights and do over 20 reps to make it Resistances(endurance ) work out.

PS. If you do over 20 reps make sure you use movents in which a whole group of muscles is involved. Rather then stressing just one muscle.

Re: easy change dumbbells

free weights FTW

Re: easy change dumbbells

Agreed guys, dumbbells are better.
The easy change ones are the types where you don't have to take the weights off and on, just put it back on the base and turn the dial. Powerblock is one type.

The question on resistance bands is because when I travel for work, I can't take the dumbbells along. Hotel gyms are there but depending on hours schedules etc they may or may not work. So power bands can be a backup.
