These are some of my favourite recipes, people often think I’ve put so much effort into making them!
Apple Pie (this is so divine)
1 pkt puff pastry
1 and a half apples (chopped and peeled)
cinnamon
raisins
icing sugar
corn flour (optional)
Take the puff pastry after its defrosted and place it in front of you horizontally. Divide it into thirds. Take a knife and cut thin diagonal strips down the left side and the right side. In the middle place the apples, cinnamon and sprinkle with castor sugar. To make the filling more juicy, sprinkle with corn flour. Take one strip from the left and place it over the center and then take a strip from the right and place it over. Repeat the plait until the center is covered all the way down in a plait. Brush the top with beaten egg. Bake for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
Simple Dessert (yet so yummy)
one plain swiss roll
1 small packet fresh cream
1 small packet ready custard
chocolate flake
Open up the swiss role, cut into small squares and place in a relatively flat serving dish. Take some warm milk and pour over swiss role. Take the custard and spread on top. refrigerate so custard can set. After that, top it with fresh cream and before you serve, crush the flake up and sprinkle all over. This dessert finishes in a matter of seconds.
Tiramisu
I dont have the exact recipe with me but its made with boudoir biscuits soaked in coffee and layered with mascarpone cheese and other ingredients.
Other things you can do with boudoir biscuits is dip in coffee mixture and layer with chocolate cream. Make the chocolate cream by mixing cocoa with fresh cream. This also comes out nice, yes all very fattening.
Apple Crumble
about a cup of flour
cup of butter
cinnamon
sugar (a cup?)
2-3 apples, chopped thinly
Using the rubbing in method, mix the above ingredients until they have a breadcrumb consistency. Place the apples in a flattish dish and cover with the crumble mixture. Bake this until its golden on top (not burnt!) at Im not sure how many degrees, usually 180.
Serve hot with fresh cream. This is usually a favourite at dinners.
