saw this movie the other day “east is east” bout a paki family in england (1971). nice movie.. too funny ! heh jokes and urinal humor at its best !
the idea was demeaning tho. im still not sure if i like it or not. om puri plays the lead role in the movie!
verbal high ! i heard the expression “f***ing paki” like 50 times in this movie. taking things to the extreme n all. basically these people are super freaks seduced by english culture. don miss it !
theres this other movie i heard bout ! “my son is a fanatic”. also bout a paki family, also starring om puri. its on my list.

As for East is East, I told you, I found it hilariously funny but you've got to be in a very open frame of mind when you go and watch it, be the sort of person who cant be offended easily. I know some Pakis werent too impressed after seeing it. Some of the stereotypes were a bit far-fetched, I didnt know that some of us bathed in our own erm, *iss? And the fact that he beat his wife up made it seem as though all Pakistanis are wife battering, primitive, dirty, 2-faced...shall I go on?
