Well I honestly did not think I would be a survivor - especially not on that fateful day in October. But Alhamdulillah I did. Yes I was actually in Pakistan, and along with all the many other aspects of Pakistan I was trying to take in , the earthquake was quite an add on I must admit.
I am sure you all have been keeping up to date with the news. And you all probably know just how severe it was. But I just wanted to add that human beings are amazing creatures. I sometimes see the positive people and forget the negative folks, and vice versa. But having lived through the earthquake and my interesting life, I have to admit that I seem to be not the same person I was a few months back or even a year.
The earthquake has in more ways than one made me think a bit deeper about my life. And my purpose in this world. And as I often point out …people only remember disasters like the earthquake or the tsunami for only a while. Then they continue with their lives. Living on is great. But forgetting - that is the sad part. And most people do just that. Forget.
Anyhow I am sure you all have your own lives to live. But I would simply ask you not to forget those who need our help .And not to forget their loss and their suffering and their pain and their hurt. Because a lot of those people still need us and our help. And we can do that by remembering . And never forgetting.
I'm sooo happy to hear that you are back safe n sound....had no idea you were in the region at that time...were you in Kashmir..?
I think i sent you a pm too....in past few months ...but can't remember if i actually sent it or was just planning to send one.
anyway, hope you'll not disappear without telling us now! :)
Owais ki khala.. once again. Welcome back and good to have you back.
yes, we should not forget about such disasters. As soon as you see the media giving less attention to it, then notice the people also becoming less concerned.
