Earthquake - Personal Stories of Sorrow

hi guys,
I didn’t know who to share it with as I live alone in the uk so i am sharing it with all of you… I know a very pretty girl in Pk, 21 years of age , got engaged to her childhood sweet heart last year… the guy had just returend to Pk last month after completing his studies from england and Now the guy and all his family are dead.. they were in the margalla towers when they collapsed, he was 24/25, and that girl has lost her senses literally or what u call a pagal normally is in a hospital … another guy I know in azad kashmir has lost so many people he has lost count, but worst for him he lost his youngest sister whom he loved the most, He used to term himself a macho man, my freind just spoke to him and he was crying like a baby… all my freinds are devastated and crying.. i know i just weep for 5 minutes then get back to normal stuff, but what about those people??? how many more??? what about the aftermath? what about the orphans who would support them?

Re: I am heart-broken, but i'll be fine what about those who have lost loved one's

Mywish, i feel the same way, i know for ure if I put myself in these peoples shoes I would not be strong enough to cope.... I would go mad, just imagine your children are burried under the stones and you cant do anything to get them out, its horrifying to say the least

Re: I am heart-broken, but i'll be fine what about those who have lost loved one's

it is sad, we are all emotional now, but what about few months from now,

please do something that will also help them in months to come, at this time everyone is trying to help and feel sad but dont forget that they need long term care and our support as well.

in our daily busy routine, after the mourning period we will get back to our life and headaches. those people will have the scars for the rest of there life.

Re: I am heart-broken, but i’ll be fine what about those who have lost loved one’s

:frowning: May Allah give all involved the patience to cope with their grief and the strength to carry on :flower1:

Missed Call.

I know all of you have been bombarded with earthquake stories, so I have one too.
A friend/cousin(Mr A .K) of mine lived in Margalla tower, fourth floor. He works for a Chinese telecom industry (ZTE). Day before yesterday I happen to go to Islamabad. I went and visited him, at the moment he is staying at my uncle’s place.

I thought the guy would be quite happy and normal that he made it out alive. Upon meeting him I was totally taken a back. The guy was in sever shock , speech was incoherent , he was getting panic attacks The first time in my life I understood the term “emotionally traumatized” ..He still managed to tell me his story and here it is …

Woke up in his flat at around eight , had breakfast , at around 8:50 gets ready to go and take a shower,(all the subsequent events are happening per minutes) entering the toilet he hears a missed call alert on the phone, turns back and checks his phone , its from the office , decides not to take a shower and call the office, while making the call the tremors start, he panics , throws away the phone and makes his way to the main door Now the earthquake catches momentum , everything starts shaking, The door starts rattling so hard that it becomes difficult for him to insert the key in the main door to unlock. While unlocking the door my friend said that he was scared but still in his senses, He said as he was unlocking the door he heard the floors above collapsing, it was the most horrendous noise he has ever heard. “It was like the noise produced when two cars crash at high speeds”. At that moment he got out of the door turned left and ran as fast as he could in the next block (As his flat is the first in the block that collapsed). After running a few yards he heard this loud noise and when he turned everything was gone behind him. After that he said I had no command on my legs and ran as fast I could down and out of the building and kept running till he reached F10/F/9 junction…
As he was relating this story tears started rolling down his eyes and he stopped , I tried to console the guy , but what could I say.
As I myself have stayed in his flat many times, I could really envisage the story in my mind. Poor guy , Later I went and visited margalla tower , really a horrific sight to see.

More reviews later , You can use this thread to share other stories of the qu

Re: Missed Call.

one of my friend's uncle lived in the tower that collapsed. the son has been standing outside day in day out to see if any progress is made. they have been able to get to one side of the apt and have even found his cellphone, but have not yet been able to locate him. he was on the 6th floor in the 12 floor bldg. among the video shots the white corolla they show which is half crushed is the same gentleman's car.

my pal is shaken just by looking at the images, I can not even begin tot hink what his cousion is going thru, the one who is standing there to find his father, or his remains.

Re: Missed Call.

Wow, what a touching story. There are many many more. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Missed Call.

He ran from fourth floor to the next block? Were the blocks/towers connected at fourth floor, or was there a flight of stairs somewhere that is missing from the story?

Re: Missed Call.

I spoke to a friend (who is like an elder brother) this morning enquiring how his family's doing in Kashmir. He said his immidiate family is fine; however, their family friends and neighbours (I think) have passed away.

It must be the most difficult feeling. First to survive, then to find out that those who were either part of your lives or lived in the surrounding area are there no more.

PKC, your friend's story is truly very traumatic. May Allah (SWT) help the affected, ameen.

Re: Missed Call.

I took my daughter to school. Her teacher is from pakistan. The teacher's brother is in Muzzafarabad and he's fine. However, he said that his car was literally thrown into the air and thrown down again at the time of the quake.

The same teacher has friends also in the same area. They know a dean at a college. He died and so did 4 of his daughters !!

I was so sad....when I heard this.

Re: Missed Call.

Wow, very touching really. May Allah give him the affected the courage to deal with this catastrophe.

Re: Missed Call.

I have also spent considerable time in that building a while back, when a friend moved there, and its certainly a very disturbing feeling when you realize its not there anymore...
