and just turning the main page black wouldn't do much. The search results are still displayed in white - those are the pages people browse for longer period of time. It's not like they open the google homepage and then stare at it. So even if turning it black does save energy, it's not a whole lot it's saving.

If you visit their website, it says it’s MORE THAN earth hour
As for us, we’ll go to grocery at 8 and will turn off everything except the fridge

it's earth hour for my kitchen, livingroom, toilet, store, front door, back door,cars and computer speakers... :@: and I didn't go to london either during earth hour to preserve energy. :@:
