Earphones

I am addicted to my music 24/7 i.e. earphones in ear

Does it has any long-term affects or is it all boo hoo fakje stories?

Re: Earphones

the in ear buds are the worst culprits. because you tend to listen to music at a higher volume, you are exposing your ears and the tiny sensitive hair in them to loudness which will eventually kill them off, making you go deaf at an earlier age. it's almost like attending a death metal concert, and you're standing in the front row. so if within another 20 years, there aer a bunch of 40 years olds walking around with hearing aids, don't be surprised.

Re: Earphones

never wear ear phones for over an hour. and a study i read said wearing earphones in noisy environment is more harmful because we tend to listen louder music.

Re: Earphones

It's pretty damaging but I haven't heard of anyone going deaf because of earphones yet :) Try avoiding it as much as you can to be on the safer side

Re: Earphones

^ Commonly, the deafness is more selective. To certain tones.

Re: Earphones

So what are you saying reggae will make me deaf? I am sure my kaan like the rest of me are very dheet :smooth:

An hour? You don’t want to know how long I wear them for

Lollywood? :hmmm:

Re: Earphones

earbuds and headphones in general can have an impact on hearing, especially in noisy environments because ppl just pump up the volume. best thing to do is get noise canceling headphones.

Re: Earphones

lol
Nope. I did not say ‘tune’.

When someone listens to music loud, the person can become deaf to certain ‘tones’ as to not be able to ever recognize those ‘tones’.

Re: Earphones

You know, like the secret sound that only kids can hear and not the buddhay people like you Shak

Re: Earphones

I never listen to my iPod. Never. I'm safe.

Re: Earphones

there was something about ear wax and headhpones too

Re: Earphones

Remind me who is older here and who is younger :snooty:

Re: Earphones

I tend to wear earphone only during workout but many of my colleagues (locals in particular) wear almost all the time. But the feature that I've noticed with them is that they can easily converse while having the earphones on, which means they usually keep the volume very low. I doubt if that can be as damaging as some of the above posters have mentioned.
