**YES…he has to test blood before meals and 2 hours after it…it’s very important to check the blood sugar first thing in the morning when you wake up. one or two random readings during major meals is also recommended.

**a reading of 4-7 is normal before meals…and…7-10 is normal for 2 hours after the meals.

In US they use

so it should be 70 to 100 milligrams per deciliter before breakfast in the morning for those in US.
