Early Age

This person ‘A’ was always was ‘out there’ and not willing to accept the normal culture where he was brought up. Always questioned religion and many other social ‘norms’.

For hours he would argue his points and ‘A’ and ‘B’ would stay late night discussing many intricate details of life in general including philosophy, religion, politics, relationship etc. in warm long summer nights or cold short winter nights.

‘A’ was wild in his mind but shy when it came to women and ‘B’ was controlled, but since ‘B’ was clear minded he had no problem making many females good friends.

‘B’ compared to his own views, understood point of views of ‘A’ but did not agree with wild, free, irreligious ideas.

‘A’ married to three women (divorced two), has three children . One from first marriage and still not happy despite materially and finacially very stable.

‘B’ married only once, has four children and still happy and satisfied but materially and financially still struggling and working hard.

Question:

**1- Does your destiny depend what you do and think at early age? **

2- Does too much thinking and curiosity in life make you feel unsatisfied inside on long-term basis?

Re: Early Age

  1. Your destiny depends on what you do in every moment of your life. It depends on what you're doing right now. Your future will be shaped accordingly.

  2. Socrates's famous quote is "Life unexamined is not worth living." I whole-heartedly agree with him. But with continous curiosity for knowing and questioning, comes knowledge that is usually hidden well, under the social/religious structures. I, indeed, believe that life is not worth living, if you don't question it. But, it is true that you learn so much that you may find it difficult to be happy.

However, if you have the courage to align your life with what you consider the truth, you will be the happiest person alive. You will be the person who KNOWS how things actually work and is still happy.

Mind you, it is not an easy process, but that is what makes it worth doing.

Not everyone who questions can be happy. It takes more courage to align yourself and your life to your personal truth, then it does to question or live by the existing ones.

I was going to advise that you don't question it if you know you don't have the courage. But I would rather advise that if you are curious, go ahead and question it. Your knowledge WILL give you the strength to live by it, in due time.

Re: Early Age

dont u think "doing and thinking at early age" is also destiny??
i think everything that follows after one comes in this world is destiny.

Yes. depends on how you define the beginning of the process.

What I meant to say, if you obesrve people at young age, thinking process develops for one reason or other at early age and it goes on for a long time.

Exception does happen.

  1. No, people change as they age. There are two different approaches to that. a) Destiny has been written b) You make your own destiny. Now it depends on what you believe. If a kid grows up to believe that he will write his own destiny than he will most likely turn out to be person "A" you described. If a child grows up to believe that his destiny has already been written, he will find satisfaction in what he can and accept everything the way it is and will eventually become person "B" you have described above.

  2. Yes, curiosity killed the cat and I will probably die like that too.. Damn it!

Well said.

Typically in our lives we are at point X, and we want/need to get to point Y.

Thus we are the one to decide about our DESTINATION.

And once you have figured it out, then the path to that destination is governed by the rules of Allah swt.

If you are chose the right path (route, as shown on your GPS), you will get to your DESTINATION safely.

Otherwise,

you may get to your DESTINATION all messed up and broken down,

or

you may never get there at all.
