Earliest Childhood Memory

My earliest memory is of me getting up in the middle of the night and waking up my mom and asking her to make me a makhan jelly sandwich.

She tells me I used to do that at like age 3. It was a nightly routine and I would wake her up every night for a few months, and then they ended up taking me out of the habit of course.

What’s yours?

Re: Earliest Childhood Memory

damn i tried hard but could not rmember...i think kindergarten...first day of school- my mum took me and i was crying a lot and did not want to leave her --- i was 3 1/2 yrs...then the miss took me from my mum and i went into the class still crying and sat with another kid and stopped crying

Re: Earliest Childhood Memory

I have several dashes in my mind, and I think these are around the same time when I’d have been around 3 or so:

1) niggling up to the TV in the middle of the night to watch Tom & Jerry, and Mighty Mouse after mom and dad would go to sleep and as soon as I’d hear footsteps, I’d jump & unplug the main outlet and pretend that I was asleep.

2) waking up mom or dad late night to ask them if they could make me “chijee” (dunno how that name came up) but it was a mixture of nido milk in a bowl with bits of brown glucose cookies.

3) kicking my teacher’s leg & creating a fuss when dad dropped me off at *Mrs. Kitchen’s Nursery School *

4) dad jumping in the swimming pool at the recreation center with all his clothes & shoes on to save my younger bro who had very calmly just walked into the deep end (yikes)

Were we a menace or what!! :D
God... raising children is a patient undertaking.

Umar Talib, lol you guys must have been a handful!!

My earliest memory, I think I was around 2-3 in Lahore when my Chacha used to sometimes pick up my sisters from school on his motorbike, and I used to excitedly wait for him to take us for a ride. It was sooooooo exciting!! I used to sit right at the front, Chacha in the middle and my 2 sisters behind, we even have a photo like that.

When you have good memories, you can usually remember roundabouts when they were, well I can anyway.

Re: Earliest Childhood Memory

haha, nice topic........hmmm well if i can remember, this goes back to when i was 5 year old and starting school. the first week, grade 5 students(who were seniors lolz) took me and my friends to play hide and seek inside a little medow/forest behind our school. the stupid ba***** left all of us alone and ran away. we didnt know how to find our way out and most of us start crying lolz. After a while, one of the teacher came down with a student and took us back :)

Re: Earliest Childhood Memory

I remember when i was just over 2 and playing with my baby brother. He must have been 6 months old. Around that time we also went on our first and only trip to Pakistan. I got very sick and my Nanajaan brought home a big chocolate bar to cheer me up. I remember being really happy at the sight of the chocolate.

Re: Earliest Childhood Memory

PCG, somehow I never really saw you growing up. So these memories you’re building these days are still virtually childish so no point reminiscing.
