I have only had my ears pierced once when I was 7…the holes in my ears closed about a year ago because I went without wearing earings for only 1 week.
Since then I have not gotten them pierced because I’m scared to DEATH of the pain but my mom is now forcing me to get them pierced because my wedding is coming up in a few months.
Should I get them pierced with a needle or gun? My ears get infected easily, especially with artificial earings, previously I could only wear 18K or above gold. Some people are saying needle is more safe and hygenic, but I beleive it is more painful?
Can you recommend some good places in the Toronto, Mississauga area? I’d really appreciate the help…I’m so clueless about this stuff! Thanks!
If you are getting the ear lobe pierced, then it shouldn't hurt, as there is no cartilage there. Don't be afraid, just grit your teeth and think happy thoughts! :)
I had them done by gun; clean, simple and over with in 10 seconds.
I didn't know that people still use the needle method, interesting.
I got my second earlobe piercing done for the second time only a month ago. So I have two holes in my earlobes, one in my upper cartilage ear area, and I have my nose pierced. AND I’m the BIGGEST CHICKEN. When I got my ears pierced for the THIRD TIME last month, I couldn’t believe how scared I was. And after it was all done, I felt silly for being so terrified. It just happens so quickly that you don’t even have the time to freak out/scream. And since I’ve gotten my ears pierced several times, the “pain” is equivalent to getting a shot from the doctors. There’s a quick pinch from the gun that you can’t feel at first and then afterwards once the earring has been placed and fixed in your ear, you’ll feel a little stinging/throbbing for a few moments and then it’s over!
It’s normal for people to get scared of the piercing gun if they haven’t been around it in a long time. I know I was. But I promise you, the whole process is soooo quick candy_apple that it’s not worth all the hesitating and stalling that your’e going through. Get it done with a gun, because it is so much faster. Also, if you’re like me and afraid of the sight of needles…then get it done with the gun because you can’t see the needle in the gun. So it’s less intimidating.
If piercing you ear was extremely painful then I doubt it would be so popular. But then I guess you could argue that giving birth is excruciating but is also popular. NOW that stuff scares the frickin crap outa me. But, getting your ears pierced is nothing compared to that, LOL. Don’t live in Canada, but to CALM YOU DOWN, i’ve posted youtube videos of people getting their ears pierced to help you relax. The first two videos show gun piercing and the last one is needle, so you can get an idea and make a decision (gun looks better). Check these out
