I need an ear amplifier to listen for faint sounds. Not that I have hearing problem, but one of my friend wants it to listen phone conversation in another room. It seems bad to spy on others, but he needs it so that he won’t get deceived by a particular person. So any suggestions for such kind of device. Thanks.

Get a Sony cam (with nightshot) and an black (infrared) filter and there's ur see thru glasses. Go do some research now.
What's wrong with using a glass up against the wall like normal people eh?:p

I think they discontinued that technology and modified it now. He will have to look on Ebay for used and those with the old NightShot technology fetch a premium. Some people! :p

We used to do that at our uncles place in England. They had some loud bengali neighbours on the kids bedroom side of the house. Since we weren’t allowed to lock the doors from the inside one person would wait at the top of the stairs and another outside the door so if hitler mamoo came up they could alert the rest. Ofcourse we would take turns listening to the neighbours and watching out for mamoo. Once mamoo walked in on us though…needless to say we got in to BIG trouble.
