I recently dyed my hair black with no knowledge that there is a restriction placed on dying one’s hair black in Islam. It was a little too late by the time my cousin told me, but from what she told me and the research I did on the internet it still isn’t clear to me why black is the only color not allowed. Is it so one isn’t able to hide one’s age? What if I don’t have any white hair and simply did it for fashion?
If anyone has done proper research on this, can you please direct me to a proper source?

**[INDENT=3]**Narrated Anas r.a.: (the servant of the Prophet ) When the Prophet arrived (at Medina), there was not a single companion of the Prophet who had grey and black hair except Abu Bakr r.a., and he dyed his hair with Henna’ and Katam (i.e. plants used for dying hair). Through another group of narrators, Anas bin Malik r.a. said,. "When the Prophet arrived at Medina, the eldest amongst his companions was Abu Bakr r.a. He dyed his hair with Hinna and Katam till it became of dark red color.

**[INDENT=3]**Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said that Muhammad ibn Ibrahim at-Taymi had informed him that Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman said “Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn Abdal-Yaghuth used to sit with us and he had a white beard and hair. One day he came to us and he had dyed them red, and the people said to him, ‘This is better.’ He said. ‘A’isha r.a. the wife of the Prophet , sent her slave girl Nukhayla to me yesterday. She swore that my hair would be dyed and she informed me that Abu Bakr as-Siddiq a.s. used to dye his hair.’ " Yahya said that he heard Malik say about dyeing the hair black, 'I have not heard anything certain on that, and other colours than that are preferable to me.” Yahya said, “Not to dye at all is permitted, Allah willing, and there is no constraint on people concerning it.” Yahya said that he had heard Malik say, “There is no clear indication in this hadith that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not dye his hair. Had the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, dyed his hair, A’isha would have sent a message to that effect to Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Aswad.”

The context of the above hadiths indicates that the dying hair with (pure) black color is disliked. I recommend you to consult with qualified Scholar/Aalim in this regard. Some Fiqha cosider dying hairs with black color is haram whereas some others says its disliked not haram but in certain condition.
Please stop following mullahs nonsense in the name of islam, learn quran ansd the day you understand the quran you will become free of mullahs bad influence.
so called islamic shariah is mullahs own creation but you will not know it till you study the quran in context of world reality. Islam is all about setting up a proper human society not about other nonsense things. Mullahs were employed to take islam out of the way of those who would rulers so that they could do as they pleased.
Why do you think all the world's elite is sticking together and funding mulahs through out the world? It is because they are good at making people fools in the name of God. if you cannot think even that much then you a lot to learn yet and a lot of growing up to do.
