Hey guys so I really want to dye my hair black. A few months ago, I tried doing it with a good ole box of black hair dye, though it did make my hair black, there was literally no shine or luster to it, and it just looked dull and flat. And black hair only looks good when its shiny. I spotted black henna at a desi store, and was wondering if this is a good alternative to dying hair black to make it black, healthy and shiny??
Has anyone done it? thoughts? Let me know thanks!!

There was some program about black henna on UK television not so long ago. If I'm right black henna shouldn't be used at all and is illegal (?) but every desi shop is selling it.

I did it and it was by far one the dumbest things I have ever done in my life. Black henna does not fade so the only way of getting rid is either shaving your head, wear a wig until the black grows out and you have chopped it off, or bleaching your hair which at that point, you might as well shave your head because you will kill your hair.
If you must have black hair, go to the salon and have the professional do it.

Yes black hair dye does that i dont know about black henna but theres a thing called indigo henna which makes your hair black and really shiny :)

Black henna as far as I've seen has never made hair look shiny or healthy.
It just colors your hair a very sharp black and it does not fade either. You have to wait for it to grow out of your hair...would not recommend it.
