digital video recorders?

any ones other than tivo or diretv or dishnet, that you guys mite know of that does not require a subscription? and can just work on my exsisting cable service?

i mean, just like the tivo recievers or something like that, but not wanting to pay the montly subscription fee. i'm sure there are some standalone dvrs out there?

There is ReplayTV on the one box appliance. Other than that you can pick up any of the MS Media Center PC's on the commercial side, and MythTV on the open source side (you would usually have to build this one yourself).
