Which type of songs are you referring to?
While I'm in homeland this summer I plan on picking up some Pakistan/Indian movie DVDs.
I have heard that each DVD has some type of code or something that ties it to the region/DVD player that it will be used. So me being in North America...I need to make sure I get DVDs compatible with North America's DVD designation.....which is #1..I think.
Anyone with experience with DVD purchasing in Pakistan (or US if they were imported from Pakistan/India)

ak Yes thats right. Its called Region Coding. USA (and Canada I think) are region 1. UK is region 2.
Some DVDs (most likely Indian) will have no region coding. Visit www.indiaplaza.com for DVDs. They do not have region coding (as far as they have told me).

i don't have a DVD player..saw it at a friends house..on their big screen tv...wow!!.
I saw dil se, border, kuch kuch hota hai songs..wich i believe were digitally mastered...some of the older songs.. weren't and it showed.

i don't know about the different types. i do know my friends got some dvds from Pakistan. .and they worked fine. i'm not sure if they made sure they got the type that were U.s. compatible.

Does any one know of any DVDs of Pakistan Pop Songs or Qawwallis - especially Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan?
I have seen KKHH and Dil Se on DVD and the quality of the print is quiet brilliant and with a good music system the songs sound very good.
