Just going to sleep doesn't mean that you are cycling through the process correctly. You may be having issues entering and staying in your REM cycle. As I said, you should seek out a sleep specialist.

Also, if you sleep on your back and if you have sleep apnea (which a specialist will tell you), you can sleep for as long as you want but with the constant awakenings you will not be sleeping correctly.
