For some strange reason half the men started crying! It was a bit scary and as we all stood there praying out loud this guy beside me started weeeeeeping away.
He was a huge guy but I couldn’t concentrate cause I’ll be honest I can’t fake crying. I do know that those who cry during prayer, where ever the tear lands on the body is protected on the day of judgement.

Those who burst in tears while praying are the blessed.
Re: During taraveeh yesterday…
May be they recalled their sins and wept on committing them?
Re: During taraveeh yesterday...
They probably understood what was being recited and God's punishment scared them. But for someone like me who doesn't understand Arabic, I can't weep because I don't know what's being recited.
This is where I have my issue. In Pakistan, kids are sent to masjid in the morning and in the afternoon and they are forced to leard quran. It's just like you make a donkey do some work. He'll do it, but he won't understand the reason/purpose behind it. People (parents and teachers) in Pakistan spend so much time on making sure their kids go to Masjid and learn Quran, but nobody cares whether they actually understand what's being said or not. Afterall, Quran is written in Arabic, not Urdu. First they should learn how to read, then understand its meanings. I have finished Quran about 7 times (mostly when I was young) but how many times did I read the translation? zero.
I will make sure that when my kids are sent to masjid, they learn not only how to read Quran, but also understand its meaning and realize what Allah is telling his servants. Unlike me who was just told to go to Masjid to read Quran whether I wanted to or not, and a lot of time I ended up skipping the lessons and walk around in streets and come back home after an hour. I will make sure my children love to follow Islam, not do it because their parents are telling them to do so.
Ofcourse there are exceptions to what I said above.

I cry sometimes while I read namaz becoz i dunno i’m just overwhelmed with emotion…I usually pray when i’m really upset about something and I know i oughta pray more… ![]()
Re: During taraveeh yesterday…
thats a very good sign! I wish i could do that
but it comes from inside u can’t make yourself cry in other words don’t do it intentionally let it come from inside.
Mashallah!!! God give us all the same level of concentration and sincerity!!!

Re: During taraveeh yesterday…
Feelings are brought up by sounds, visuals/senses, sounds do not have to mean anything to you. visuals may be something you never saw before, and you might sense things that cant be explained from one person to the other…
for one person to judge others feelings is impossible, all you see is your visual cues, for one to say one person fakes
Re: During taraveeh yesterday…
I don’t know about others, but when ever I listen the Name of Rehmat-ul-lialamin… Sarwar-e-Kainaat Rasoool Allah Muhammad :saw: … tears automatically comes…
and… I am going to see Roza-e-Rasool :saw: on this Friday inshAllah again ![]()
you need to read life of Prophet :saw: … you will know what Humanity is … he lived like a normal person, but in reality he is the person for whom Allah made this Universe
think about the love Allah do to him… just do a little bit of that love and you will also be blessed inshAllah ![]()

Re: During taraveeh yesterday...
rocki bahi sometimes people don't understand arabic, but they remeber what they have wrong in the past , or they understood jsut couple of words which talk about the punishement and they start crying asking forgiveness.
