Dupatta crisis!!

Hey guys!
I have this shalwaar kameez suit, and there’s loads and loads of kaam on the dupatta, proberbly 4 times more kaam then there is ón the kameez…
And I wanna set the dupatta in a Real Nice way, so you Can see the kaam, I wont wear the dupatta not on my head tough!
I hope you guys have some ideas?

Re: Dupatta crisis!!

Pin each side on the shouler with a safety pin ( you might need more depending on how heavy the dopata is) so it kinda hangs at the front.

Re: Dupatta crisis!!

Is your shirt also full of kaam? or is it fairly simple... and what part of it has more kaam on it ? daaman , or the neckline or the waistline?

If the shirt is simple or has kaam on the daaman .. then the ever green dupatta style , one side neatly folded on one shoulder and pinned, then V shape the dupatta to the other shoulder and let go of the dupatta while pinning just one border to the shirt. It gives a very glamorous look :@:

If you have lots of kaam on the neckline and waist line of the shirt, then I would advise the same as MKD advised above :@:

Re: Dupatta crisis!!

I didn't think of that before ... I've always tought that was kinda aunty/paindo-ish ... but it might look quote nice ...

Hmm I just tried that ... but the dupatta it way to biggg and heavy ... omg :( ...
its like a meter wide and 3 meter long :( ...

Re: Dupatta crisis!!

:hmmm: dunno what to say , other then :smilestar: why did you buy such a heavy dupata :asa:

Re: Dupatta crisis!!

these are the ways i know of:

you hang it over one shoulder with it folded or pleated nicely
you take one corner at the back and drape it across your other shoulder with a v in the middle? and do same in front so the front corner is a little longer and hangs over the opposite shoulder. so both corners will be on same shoulder. hope that makes sense

i think you can also cross it over your front as well sort of gujurati style.

you can also take the corner in back and fold it into your lengha skirt at the waist so it drapes nicely in back…

lol
I didn’t buy the suit… dad did :frowning:

Pin and drape it like you'd drape a 'kharra dupatta'. I'm sure there are a few video's on youtube.
