frequently used muhawara in Urdu 
Anyone knows the origin behind this muhawra? What is dukhRa?

Are you sure its 'aap beeti'?
Hint: DukhRa used to be a form of poetry like Doha, Ghazal, etc popular in UP few centuries ago.

i didn't know about dukhRaa being a form of poetry...the poetry depicting lamentations in Hindi is called 'vireh/birhaa' geet [judaaii ke songs jis men apne dukhoN kaa bayaan hotaa hai].
'aap beetii' se merii muraad thii jo Khud pe beettii hai uskaa bayaan dukhRe meN hotii hai...kisii aur kaa dukhRaa to nahiiN koii sunaataa. kisii aur ke dukhRe ko bayaan karnaa 'dukhRaa sunaanaa' nahiiN hotaa. :)

DukhRa used to be Noha in UP’s regional languages, whereby story and sorrows of Ahl e Bait (SAW) in Karbala were told. With the advent of Marsia and its development by four poets of Awadh Khaleeq, Faseeh, Dilgeer and Zameer and then by Anees and Dabeer, this form of poetry (Marsia) reached its pinnacle and people in UP’s region also followed new form of Marsia and Noha. Accordingly, DukhRas just limited to this Muhawra (DukhRe rona).
Once, someone praised Mir Anees for his Marsiya goi and he said ‘sahib main to bus DukhRe rota hoon’.
There used to be Shuhdas in Lucknow, who used to get money, etc by visiting people’s home and praying for them. If they were not given kharat, they turned to calling names to the people and don’t leave till they were provided something. People used to enjoy this situation and deliberately annoy them. During an encounter with such Shuhda (when Mir Anees was enjoying the annoying Shuhda), Shuhda said to him: Dua do Yazeed ko, jis ke kiye ka khaate ho.
