Re: Duke University’s decision to sound Muslim call to prayer(azan every friday)
@Southie
If you do care to read the posts of Muslim posters and fairly judge how those posts are creating paranoia towards Islam or Islamic prayer call just over university’s decision to allow Muslim students to have a weekly juma prayer call, you’ll agree that my allegations that Muslims are adding to the hate, paranoia, opposition which already exists against Muslims and Islam. But for some reason, you’re verdict that my allegations are unwarranted is unwarranted itself as it is not based on fairness. Anyone would know that after reading all the posts.
Since a weekly prayer call should not hurt sentiments of any believer (i cannot say the same for non believers who follow no religion so they will be not tolerant to any kind of religious call), I’m unable to understand where all the discomfort, paranoia and opposition is stemming from, that too; from Muslim posters. I’m unable to see the evil behind university’s decision for a juma prayer call. I can’t see the harm it would have caused. Again, I’m speaking from a muslim’s perspective, not a nonbeliever’s or non Muslims’. That’s why these posts by Muslims took me by surprise. But as TLK said, I’m surely among those few “sitting on a tree” watching the crowd go ballistic over this harmless (actually good) decision by the university.
I respect the fact that you are in support of the prayer call at Duke University. Maybe you should respect the fact that not ALL muslims have to think the same way.
You have been very polite with me. For that I thank you.
