Actually it is the Muslim students who campaigned for this. Why would the University randomly decide on its own that the azaan needs to be said out loud before Friday prayers? That would be really absurd.
And you keep emphasizing that it’s a bad decision because it’s the US? I firmly believe and know that the US as a whole is a lot less racist than all of Europe when it comes to Muslims so it would be a bad decision in Europe as well.
Anyways the latest news is that Duke has retracted its decision because they realized instead of fostering goodwill it was actually causing harm.
