I find this time of salat to be the most relaxing of all, especially when you go to the masjid. Relaxing because in the afternoon i’m usually at work or busy with other chores. More often than none it is hot and sunny outside (especially in summers) so it feels nice to escape from the daily grind for an hour inside a cool shady masjid.
When i go in i make it a point to leave the outside world as outside as possible. Lose all cell phones, jackets, shoes, socks etc. Lots of people go in and out in a hurry and thats okay but that totally ruins the experience. A lot of people dont bother taking their socks off for wudu, and though according to most arabic scholars it is okay, i still think they should burn the extra 2 calories and take em off for proper wudu. Our feet are always packed in socks and shoes and never get a chance to breathe properly.
Cleaning your body with water and then letting it cool off under the soft breeze of the ceiling fans does wonders to recuperate any lost energy and gives you that extra boost to get past the rest of the day.
No i dont pray 5 times (not yet anyway) so no im no saint but whenever i do go to the masjid its a very relaxing experience.

You wrote this with such affection, reverence and humilty, how could I not respond? Even if it was a spur of the moment thing...:D
I love tahajjud salah and Fajr salah. Although, I haven't really been able to enjoy Fajr salah, as I usually wake up just in time to offer salah and either continue on with the day or go back to sleep. However, on days when I've woken up fresh and took my time to pray, I've found it to be very relaxing and soothing.
I no longer offer tahajjud salah, but nothing beats it.
The peace and tranquility experienced in these two salahs is just amazing. Part of the reason being is because there isn't much else going on and therefore you can concentrate the best.
The days when I take time out to slowly/properly offer Fajr salah with some level of concentration have been the best days.
Jummah salah has its own charm and good khutbas make the experience a real treat.
