I have a satellite tuner card which I seldom use. However, if I start the viewer program which came with it, it first enables a relay to supply power to the LNB. I can hear the clicking of the relay. As soon as I hear the relay click, Windows XP Pro-SP2 gives me a warning that Windows firewall has been switched off. I cannot enable the firewall unless I stop supplying power to the LNB. WTH!
Personally, I don't like to put anything in my start up configurations. I like my system to start as quickly as possible. If I have to use anything, I can start it myself.
