**DUBAI - A Dubai court has sentenced an Emirati to death after convicting him of raping and then murdering a four-year-old Pakistani boy in a mosque on the first day of a Muslim feast, newspapers said on Thursday.**
The sentence was handed down on Wednesday by lower court judge Fahmi Fahmi amid tight security. The victim’s father and brother were in court to hear the verdict, the Khaleej Times reported.
The sentence is not final as it can be challenged before the appeals and supreme courts.
The condemned man, 30, had confessed during the trial to raping and murdering the boy in a mosque as worshippers offered prayers nearby on the first day of Eid al-Adha (The Feast of the Sacrifice) on November 27.
The boy was found dead in the toilet of the mosque, according to a statement last month by the Dubai prosecutor.
According to the prosecution, the culprit, a fisherman by profession, said he lured the boy to the toilet by saying he would give him a cash present to mark the feast.
As the boy tried to scream after being sexually assaulted, the attacker muzzled him and banged his head on the floor, killing him.
Although the United Arab Emirates has the death penalty on its statute book, executions are rarely carried out in the Gulf country.

There are some crimes for which the punishment in Islam is death. If you manage to somehow avoid that punishment in this world, it will be given to you in infinite and exponential amounts in the life hereafter.

I watched the news on tv few weeks back , came to know about the court verdict just now thru this thread. Alas the poor boy lost his life :( ( Inna lilla he wainna Alaihe Rajaioon)
so this guy was a poor fisherman
not connected to the royal family, offcourse justice will prevail in this case
my heart goes out to the parents of that child and what they must have gone through
May Allah (swt) grant them sabr and strength to live with this thought, for the rest of their lives
Arab or Aajam, this is a suitable punishment, a quick public execution....... or even a slow one is most proper in this case. Regardless of race, creed, culture..... this crime sadly happens everywhere and for once this is justice!
Allah help the fammily who have to go through the suffereing, kudos to the judge for his wise ruling, it would be a most fitting punishment for the murderer, being a fisherman to be publicly fed to live piranah fish, one limb at a time.

The news must have made it to the international media & the emarati must have been not an influencial man & had no waasta to get himself safely out of this so they had to punish him. None of us know how many cases go unreported.
See, that’s exactly what I meant. The accused did not have waasta to get him out safely and respectfully so bravo to the uae government for being so just and punish him for his crime.
