It's special cuz it's the largest mall in the world! Has a HUGE aquarium...mini-trams and what not! After being to Atlantis..anything in Dubai is grande!
Since i am new to forum so, thank you LUCID for you help by providing these links. Arabian Renches roughly 30-35 k.m away from the Dubai Mall and if you stuck in traffic on Emirates Roads or Near Al Barsha then ALLAH ALLAH KAR BAHYA...... bcoz i know the pain being stuck in traffic....anyways Aisha no hard feeling Sorry but IT IS FAAAAAAAR...

You have to be careful with speed limit the new bridge is open now with speed limit 60km/hr and it will catch you on 65km/hr..seriously.Have a happy shoping ........

You mean the bridge that they are building for the Arabian Canal? I didn't know they had already started. I don't drive downtown very often to avoid the traffic jams on SZR, so I didn't realize that it's already there.
And yea, I agree with Oleander. Thori si bhi traffic ho to Ranches sai Dubai Mall easily 1 hour lag sakta hai. Even from AUD to Dubai Mall it can take you an hour if you drive at the wrong time.
Wrong "time" is all the time in Dubai.. sigh

lol!! :p not really.. it depends on where u live and the peak rush hour timings...
I just got back from Dubai mall and it is HUGE! Majority of the shops aren't still open though...and the aquarium is just alright! It needs about 2 months to settle-in. Result? My feet are KILLING me!

Gina lucky you! i am going on sunday if i can find the time. yeah i read that out of 1200 shops only roughly 600 are open. i cannot wait to go to bloomingdales!! finally a bloomingdale which is not so far and in ny!
you are right,sometimes big mall sucks,we have one here in Istanbul it is so huge with what not even a playschool :headache: ,it look like more an airport than shopping mall 
It's huge, u need 2 days to see it all! The aquarium at Atlantis is still better! yeah they have diff shops..which is nice! The nice part is that they have all the babycare/clothes shops in one area, shoes in another area so u don't have to go hopping from one end to the other in search of one thing! Parking was a nightmare..!

I tried it from SZR through D/R ohh my God it took me 1 & 1/2hr even to reach R/O, droped my friends and told them to walk and i went stright to MOE.

I always thought that as malls get bigger in size, they become less effective. People cannot walk through out the mall in one go. I went to the largest mall in the US, and after walking around for 20 minutes, I was done even though I had only seen 1/4 of the mall.
