salaam, all fellow guppies. i’m going to be visting dubai next month, InshAllah and would be staying near the Gold Souk there so i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for shops. it’s obviously impossible to see the whole thing so it would greatly help if i know of some good shops there. also, i’m interested in yellow gold, polki, white gold and diamonds. thanks a bunch!

OK I am sorry but I cannot tell you about that since I personally don't really visit Pakistan that much but what I can tell you is that there is definitely a jewellery price difference at ARY jewellers in Pak compared to the ARY shops in Dubai. I know from personal interaction with ARY. I don't know about other shops/brands though.
I myself am not much in to gold any way. I would just say that, I think it is safe bet to buy gold from Dubai rather than Pakistan.

Dawn gold prices are the same everywhere in the world (in different currencies ofcourse) the difference lies in the purity and the making charges different shops charge.
Ppl prefer buying gold in Middle east/dubai coz of the purity. IF they sell you 22kt then that is what it is going to be nothing less nothing more... that is not the case in PAk though... pls talk to the shopkeeper to show you the stamp each and every piece of jewellery sold in dubai goes to a central place to get stamped.
As for the making charges, take someone local with you and they can bargain at the place they usually buy gold from. hope that helps...
