There used to be a small Indian fast food and an Indian buffet place inside Dubai airport - are they still around?

Are there good places to eat close to the airport and do we need a visa to go out of the airport?

If you mean ‘Jashan’, yes it is. It is on th air side in Sheikh Rashid terminal between gates 14 and 15.

I believe you do need a visa to leave the airport.

yes, but i know if you're an american national you still need a visa, though the processing is free and almost immediate. where as if you're a pakistani national, you are charged for the processing and it can take up to several days.

Then of course there is the obligatory strip search, scrotum scratch and 5 hour wait for a guy to finish picking his nose and get off his mobile.

jhoot aur bakwaas, this happens only with muslims in US not muslims in Dubai, so next time u make a 5 hour statement make sure u make it with personal Xperience

Maybe not the scrotum scratch, but wait is correct. My uncle has gone through it. I advise all non visa requiring tourists to use Marhaba service. Thankfully I don’t need a visa. Each time I walk past the visa collection point before the escalators, there are literally hundreds of people waiting around.
